Histone acetyltransferases (HATs) are involved in disease processes as well and have garnered attention as targets for therapy across a number of pathological areas including cancer, neurodegenerative disorders, and inflammatory diseases.

Chemiluminescence Assay Format
Our services rely upon our available chemiluminescent screening assays based on HAT-mediated transfer of an acetyl group from acetyl-CoA to a histone substrate that is coated onto a 96-well plate. The acetylated histone is recognized by a highly specific primary antibody, followed by an HRP-labeled secondary antibody. The chemiluminescence produced by HRP after addition of a substrate can be measured using a chemiluminescence reader. In the presence of an acetyltransferase inhibitor, the overall chemiluminescent signal will decrease due the reduction in histone acetylation.
